The Lymphatic System and the Role it Plays in Detoxing Sensitive Skin
We’re sure you’ve heard about the lymphatic system before, but not many know the important role it plays in the body and in the process of eliminating toxins.
Let’s Start With a Bit of Anatomy.
The lymphatic system is actually a network of tissues and organs the help the body get rid toxins, waste and other unwanted materials. It’s primary function is to transport “lymph”, which is a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells throughout the body.
The lymphatic system takes all the toxins from across the body and then it transports them to the organs which are responsible for toxin elimination (such as the liver and kidneys) which in turn metabolize toxins and allow them to be excreted from the body.
The lymphatic system itself is powered by breathing and movement, which is why exercising and breaking a sweat daily is so important to our overall well-being.
Cleansing the Lymphatic System.
The lymphatic system cleanses the whole body, so if you have a high level of toxicity there is a chance the lymphatic system can get clogged, which can lead to symptoms like joint pain, swelling, cellulite, acne and other skin breakouts.
This is why cleansing your body can sometimes be necessary, as by minimizing the amount of toxins going into your body you will experience an overall higher level of well-being.
